The purpose of crushing malt:

1. Separate the wheat hull from the surface of the wheat kernel so that its endosperm can be effectively broken down by enzymes.

2 Reduce the degree to which the endosperm becomes mealy (i.e. the particles are too small) to increase their effective surface area for absorbing water.

3. Effectively keep the wheat hull intact so that the wort can be filtered smoothly after malt saccharification.

4. Reduce the amount of fine powder, because these fine powder will turn into paste after saccharification, which will affect the filtration effect.

5 Get the highest yield from raw materials

Things to note when crushing malt:

Equipment inspection: Check whether there are impurities in the hopper of the crusher, whether there are foreign objects between the two rollers, whether the parts are fastened, whether the power cord is connected properly, and whether there is any exposure. Check whether the motor grounding and other accessories are normal. If there is no abnormality, prepare to crush it.

Raw material inspection: Before crushing the malt, carefully check the appearance quality of the malt to see if there is any mold or rot.

Special note: Barley malt should be used immediately after being powdered. It should not be stored for a long time, let alone overnight.

When the burnt malt and black malt are crushed, they must not be moistened with water.

Add the malt into the hopper and start crushing. During the crushing process, take samples at any time to check the malt crushing situation. According to the thickness of the malt powder, adjust the roller distance and feed amount appropriately. The ratio of coarse to fine particles is 1:2.5.

Operators should wear dust-proof equipment when crushing. It is strictly forbidden to put hands into the hopper during the crushing process. Fireworks are strictly prohibited in the crushing room.

Post-processing: After crushing, cut off the power supply, recycle the stored materials, clean the dust on the equipment and clean the ground.
